The meeting of the first Trade Policy Review of Taiwan will be held on 20 and 22 June 2006. Members will conduct the review based on the Secretariat’s report as well as Taiwan’s policy report.

The purpose of the Trade Policy Review Mechanism is to offer greater transparency in Members’ trade policies and measures. The Trade Policy Review does not seek make any judgment on the WTO-consistency of measures applied by the Member under review. This will be the first review of Taiwan, and Taiwan looks forward to this opportunity to demonstrate the dynamism and openness of its greater economy and trading system.
