The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has just held their Expo! Expo! IAEE’s Annual Meeting & Exhibition 2016 from December 6 to 8 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. TAITRA’s Executive Vice President Walter Yeh was presented the Outstanding Achievement in Industry Leadership Award during the event, the first Asian to receive the award since the IAEE was established in 2004.
The Outstanding Achievement in Industry Leadership Award recognizes leaders who have made outstanding contributions to the global exhibitions and events industry. Mr. Walter Yeh also serves as President of the Taiwan Exhibition and Convention Association (TECA) and bears the mission to connect Taiwan’s exhibition and meeting industry with the world. In addition, he was re-elected as AFECA President earlier this year and will continue to promote interactions and cooperation between Asian and international MICE industries. Moreover, IAEE announced during Expo! Expo! that Walter Yeh has earned CEM-Emeritus status, which is a lifetime designation in recognition of his significant contributions to the Certified in Exhibition Management Learning Program, showing that Walter has been recognized for his dedication.
TAITRA has been IAEE's exclusive licensee of the CEM designation in Taiwan since 2012 and has spared no effort to educate local MICE talent and aid them in earning CEM designations. Taiwan currently ranks second in Asia with 124 CEMs, next only to China. Currently there are 2,411 CEMs around the world, and the number continues to grow.
