ttached is a proposal for amending Section 3 of the TRIPS Agreement with a view to extending the regime of protection today available for geographical indications on wines and spirits to geographical indications on all products ("extension"). In addition, a proposal for the inclusion of an annex to the TRIPS Agreement establishing a multilateral system of notification and registration of geographical indications (GIs) is also attached. Achieving substantial results on these issues remains a priority for the EC in the DDA.
