Various US government agencies provide technical assistance and capacity building in the area of intellectual property rights (IPR), to assist members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in their efforts to implement the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property (TRIPS).
The Delegation of the United States has notified an Act to amend title 35, United States Code, to provide for patent reform. This Act may be cited as the "Leahy-Smith America Invents Act".
The present document reproduces the text of an Act to amend title 35, United States Code, to provide for patent reform, notified by the United States under Article 63.2 of the Agreement in a communication dated 13 October 2011. This Act may be cited as the "Leahy-Smith America Invents Act".
