In line with the government’s New Southbound Policy and with positive views on the Southeast Asia automobile and motorbike market growth potential, TAITRA recently held press conferences in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, on October 16th and 18th to promote the six-in-one Taipei International Auto Parts & Accessories Show (Taipei AMPA), working actively to expand the Southeast Asia market.
Indonesia has the largest automotive market in the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN). As their local roads are not in the best conditions and their transportation infrastructure is not yet complete, auto parts wear out rapidly and the demand for related accessories is large. According to Taipei AMPA 2018 international buyer analysis, Indonesia is one of the show’s top 15 buyer origin countries. Over 30 local media companies attended the organizers’ roadshow session at Ocha & Bella, Morrissey Hotel Jakarta, on October 16th. The session included introductions to Taiwan’s current automotive and motorcycle industries, as well as show advantages, to attract automotive and motorcycle suppliers and buyers to attend the show in Taiwan.
Vietnam economy is quickly developing. As per capita income increases, so does car ownership rate, and automotive and smart transport industry development demands are expected to rise substantially. TAITRA is optimistic about the market potential and held a special press explanatory meeting at SOFITEL SAIGON PLAZA, Ho Chi Minh, on October 18th. Thirty-one Vietnam media companies, including major ones like The leader, VietDaily.vn and Autodaily.vn were present for reporting. The reporters on scene were impressed by Taiwan’s application of smart transport technology to achieve near zero error in bus arrival time services and had much interest in whether Taiwan’s smart transport technology may help in resolving heavy city traffic issues. With the local press’ reports, it is anticipated that additional Vietnam buyers will visit the show in Taiwan.
In 2019, Taipei AMPA, AutoTronics Taipei, Taiwan International Intelligent Transportation Show (Taiwan ITS), and Taiwan International Electric Vehicle Show will be held at Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1 and Hall 2 on April 24-27, and Taiwan International Motorcycle Industry Show (Motorcycle Taiwan) and Taiwan International Tuning & Car Care Show will be held at Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2 on April 25-28.
