The Bureau of Foreign Trade attended the GBR World Congress in South Africa to Promote Business Cooperation with Africa
Deputy Director General William Liu of the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs, led a delegation to attend the 2019 Global Business Roundtable World Congress on 27 March, 2019. Mr. Liu delivered a speech on “The Current Economic/Trade Situation and Industrial Innovation in Taiwan” to help participants better understand Taiwan’s current economic development and business opportunities.
More than 200 participants from Taiwan, Finland, Indonesia and Africa attended the 9th session of the World Congress this year in Johannesburg between 27 and 29 March. Topics discussed included west-to-east trade movements, the future of energy, property development and growth, Africa’s new global context and the fourth industrial revolution and their impacts on Africa and the global economy.
The Congress was a good opportunity for the African businesses to have a deeper understanding of Taiwan and opened the door to the new African market for our businesses.
