The Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) hosted the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) webinar Promoting Trade by Using Digital Technology on 14 September, and there were over 200 attendees from public and private sectors from all APEC member economies and APEC Business Advisory Council.

Speakers from the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Taiwan shared relevant policies and measures as well as the practices of the smart exhibition on promoting trade by utilizing digital technology. With the fruitful discussions, APEC members learned how to adopt digital transformation in the MICE industry and create new business opportunities. The webinar organizers hope that the outcome of the discussions could help companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to use digital technology in promoting cross-border trade activities and support the Asia-Pacific region's economic recovery in the post-pandemic era.
