Sharing Practical Experience to Help Taiwanese Traders Enter New Southbound Policy Markets

2021-11-24

The Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) on November 19 held the "2021 New Normal, New Scene, New Opportunities - New Southbound Policy Practical Experience Export Forum." The aim was to share the latest business insights about the New Southbound Policy markets as well as the utilization of digital marketing technology to accelerate expansion into overseas markets.

According to the BOFT, the rapid economic growth of the New Southbound Policy countries is worth the active expansion of Taiwanese traders. Therefore, through market research the BOFT provides expert consultation, marketing promotion, and matchmaking arrangements to buyers and to assist industries. A spokesperson noted the example of a new domestic venture engaged in earthquake AI warning systems that successfully collaborated with the Indonesian Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) this year. The BMKG intends to apply this system to railways, highways, power plants, and other facilities for early earthquake warning and prevention in the future.

Since the New Southbound Innovative Marketing Development Plan was launched by the BOFT in 2019, more than 300 domestic manufacturers of medical equipment, health food, energy-saving equipment, and beauty care products have been assisted so far in completing purchases with international buyers.
