2021-11-26

The "Taiwan Expo 2021 in Indonesia" had its grand opening on November 24 and represented the final edition of the Taiwan Expo 2021 series. A total of 140 Taiwanese enterprises participated.

The opening venue in Taipei exhibited Taiwanese products, such as electric motorcycles, digital cockpits, and body composition analyzers. An exhibition area was also set up at Mall Kelapa Gading 2, a popular shopping mall in Indonesia, to display high-quality products from 22 Taiwanese manufacturers. Not only could local buyers and consumers visit the exhibition online, they could also experience these exhibits in person. This created a distinct online merge offline (OMO) service.

Cynthia Kiang, Director General of the Bureau of Foreign Trade, pointed out that since Indonesia is dedicated to developing its electric vehicle industry, linking with Taiwan's proven technology and supply chain relations with well-known international electric vehicle manufacturers would create more opportunities for bilateral cooperation. Mr. Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of the Indonesian Ministry of Investment, encouraged Taiwanese companies to invest in Indonesia, expressed the hope of collaborating with Taiwanese electric vehicle manufacturers.

The BOFT emphasized key business opportunities during Indonesia's economic recovery. Through concerted efforts between Taiwan and Indonesia, more industrial exchanges and business opportunities will be generated.
