Taiwan-Czech Economic Relations
In 2020, Czech ranks as Taiwan’s 44th largest trading partner. Bilateral trade between Czech and Taiwan totaled US$890.7 million (+8.76%). Czech’s exports to Taiwan amounted to US$369.9 million (+1.47%), with major exports consisting of motor cars, microscopes, telephones, etc. Taiwan’s exports to Czech amounted to US$520.8 million (+14.60%), with major exports consisting of semiconductors, telephones, storage devices, etc.
Czech ranks as the 4th largest investment destination among EU members for Taiwanese enterprises. According to statistics from the Investment Commission of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan’s cumulative investment in Czech since 1952 amounts to US$0.16 billion, mainly in the ICT sector.
Czech is one of Taiwan’s crucial EU partners in the areas of trade, investment and innovative technology cooperation. Both sides continue to promote business and industrial collaboration through trade shows, exhibitions and visit exchanges of trade missions. Based on the existing good foundation, the bilateral cooperation in the fields of ICT, machinery, green energy, automobile and medical care, etc. will be further enhanced.
