Subject: Amendments to the List of Commodities Subject to Export Restriction, effective December 1, 2022.

CCC4403.11.00.20-8 “(Chamaecyparis formosensis), (Chamaecyparis obtusa var. formosana), (Calocedrus macrolepis var. formosana) wood in the rough, whether or not stripped of bark or sapwood, or roughly squared, treated with paint, stains, creosote or other preservatives” and 13 other CCC codes have been added to the List of Commodities Subject to Export Restriction.

Export regulation codes “441” or “456” have been added to the aforementioned 14 CCC codes.

Exporters of the aforementioned goods/articles do not need to file an application for an Export Permit with the Bureau of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

1. Article 11.2 of the “Foreign Trade Act”

2. Article 5 of the“Regulations Governing the Export of Commodities”

Supplementary Information:

In order to reduce the illegal logging of Chamaecyparis formosensis and other forest products, export controls must be enforced; therefore, export regulation codes “441” or “456” have been added to CCC4403.11.00.20-8 “(Chamaecyparis formosensis), (Chamaecyparis obtusa var. formosana), (Calocedrus macrolepis var. formosana) wood in the rough, whether or not stripped of bark or sapwood, or roughly squared, treated with paint, stains, creosote or other preservatives” and 13 other CCC codes.
