Director General Cynthia Kiang of the International Trade Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs, received Mr. Emani Kumar, secretary-general of the Asia Low Emission Development Strategies Partnership (ALP) and deputy secretary-general of the organization International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI), at her office on March 20, 2024.

During their meeting, they exchanged views on a range of topics, including the upcoming annual ALP Forum, this year’s ALP International Seminar in Taiwan, planned CoP (Community of Practice) symposiums, and the Leadership Group for Clean Transport in Asia Program. They also discussed potential opportunities for cooperation on low-carbon initiatives with industries in target countries under Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy, namely South and Southeast Asian nations as well as Australia and New Zealand.
