The inauguration ceremony of the Joint Committee under the Economic Cooperation Agreement (ECA) between Taiwan and Eswatini was held on May 22, 2019. Minister Jong-Chin Shen and Eswatinian Minister Manqoba Khumalo co-signed the functions and rules of procedures for the Joint Committee of the ECA, announcing the establishment of the Committee. The Committee is expected to serve as a platform for dialogue to strengthen the partnership between the two sides.
More than 50 representatives from the relevant government bodies, associations, as well as Taiwanese business leaders, including potential investors, attended the ceremony to witness the establishment of the Joint Committee. It is hoped that by leveraging the industrial strengths and the operations of the Committee, the investment and trade relationship between Taiwan and Eswatini will be further solidified.
Note: The Taiwan-Eswatini ECA was signed on June 8, 2018 and took effect on December 27 last year.
