A bustling scene at the Taipei 2019 “Talents for New Southbound Policy Markets Recruitment Event”. A total of 48 Taiwanese enterprises were present at the joint recruitment event which attracted nearly 200 talents.

In order to assist Taiwanese enterprises to enhance the promotion of their New Southbound Policy markets, the BOFT is not just helping them business-match opportunities, but job-match talents as well. In May and June, TAITRA is commissioned by BOFT to organize three “Talents for New Southbound Policy Market Recruitment Events”, one each in Kaohsiung, Taipei and Taichung. It is expected that more than 100 Taiwanese enterprises will participate in the events, and release more than 1,300 job openings.

The first round of the talent recruitment events was held in Kaohsiung on May 21, with 29 Taiwanese enterprises participating, matching more than 120 talents. On June 4, the second session was held at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC), where a total of 48 Taiwanese enterprises participated, and nearly 200 talents were matched. The event at these two locations presented a diverse range of recruiting industries, where finance, precision machinery, petrochemicals, aquatic products, ICT, biotechnology, and everyday goods sectors offered job opportunities to participants. The event attracted overseas Chinese, second-generation immigrants, as well as local language experts willing to work abroad to participate in job-matching. The scene at the events showed great enthusiasm from all participants.

Chief of Staff of BOFT, Mr. Nick Ni delivered remarks at the event, stating that the New Southbound Policy comprises four main aspects: economic and trade collaboration, people-to-people exchanges, resource sharing, and the promotion of institutional links. In particular, establishing people-centered exchanges and cooperation lies at the core of the policy. The events were organized based on this core concept in helping enterprises develop business activities and promote talent exchanges between Taiwan and the targeted partner countries. It is expected that these efforts will create mutual benefits and win-win arrangements.

The last round of the events will be held on June 13 at Evergreen Laurel Hotel in Taichung. The BOFT hopes that through this job-matching platform, our enterprises will find the ideal people for their jobs and the best side-kicks to develop their New Southbound Policy markets.
