Remarks by Ms. Jen-Ni Yang, Director General, Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), Ministry of Economic Affairs (left), and Mr. Sibani Mngomezulu, CEO of Eswatini Investment Promotion Agency (right) during the Eswatini Investment and Trade Opportunities Seminar
CEO Mngomezulu from the Eswatini Investment Promotion Agency (EIPA) led a delegation to Taiwan in November, 2019 and co-hosted two investment seminars with the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT).
On November 5, an MOU was signed between EIPA and BOFT during the Taipei session of the Eswatini Investment and Trade Opportunities Seminar. The MOU aims to promote Taiwan’s economic and trade interactions with Eswatini and continues to deepen the friendship between the two countries. Both sides looked forward to further fortifying economic and trade cooperation via the Economic Cooperation Agreement (ECA) platform. The Kaohsiung session was held for the first time on November 6. In both investment seminars, there was a lot of interest from our businesses on exploring the Eswatini market.
Eswatini is an important ally to Taiwan that also actively participates in regional economic integration in Africa. Africa's economic development has grown by leaps and bounds and has become an important emerging market. Eswatini is seen as a bridge for our businesses to enter the African market.
