The Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland & Slovakia (V4) Business Networking Luncheon, organized by the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) and sponsored by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, was held on July 23, 2020.
The Luncheon was hosted by Chairman Sean C.S. Hsu of the Taiwan-Czech Committee of CIECA. Deputy Director-General Chih-hung Liu of the BOFT pointed out in his keynote speech that the purpose of the networking luncheon is to connect people and explore tangible business opportunities between V4 countries and Taiwan.
Representatives in Taiwan from the V4 countries were invited to introduce their respective investment environments. Taiwanese businesses, Chi Fun Investment Holdings Group, Everlight Electronics, and Tatung, which have invested in Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic, respectively, also shared their investment experiences. The presentations and speeches effectively enabled attendants to understand the investment environments and relevant incentive measures of the V4 countries. Sixty people attended this informative event.
Participants expressed positive feedback about the event, during which they gained a preliminary understanding of the investment settings in the V4 countries. The BOFT will continue to hold similar business networking events through the government-private exchange platform in order to expand Taiwan’s bilateral trade, investment and technical cooperation with the V4 countries.
