1. The Kaohsiung Office of the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) held a seminar on “The Current Status of International Economy and Trade in 2021” on the afternoon of March 3. About 90 manufacturers, importers, and exporters in Kaohsiung attended the event.
2. During the seminar, Vice President Jiann-Chyuan Wang of the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER), as the keynote speaker, gave a presentation on the economic outlook for the world and Taiwan in the near future, guidelines for companies adversely affected by COVID-19, the U.S.-China friction on technology and its consequential impact on related geopolitics, the influence of and response to the RCEP, President Tsai's three major economic strategies and subsequent opportunities, and finished by answering questions from participants.
