Subject: Effective 15 May 2023, Certificates of Origin for goods exported from the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the Republic of El Salvador shall be suspended, as well as related regulations under the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of China (Taiwan), the Republic of El Salvador and the Republic of Honduras.

 

Legal Basis: Paragraph 4 of Articles 2-4 of the Regulations Governing Issuance of Certificates of Origin and Certificates of Processing

 

The Republic of El Salvador's unilateral repeal of the Taiwan-El Salvador Free Trade Agreement on 7 November 2022 constitutes a material breach of the Agreement. Our permanent mission of the sepetare customs territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu to the WTO has already informed the WTO Secretariat that suspension of the Free Trade Agreement takes effect on 15 May 2023.

 

This Bureau’s Announcement about Mao Fu 09700022510 on 29 February 2008 ceases to apply, effective 15 May 2023.
