Trade
In 2023, bilateral trade between Taiwan and Australia totaled US$23.4 billion. Australia is Taiwan’s 8th largest trading partner, accounting for 3.5% of our total trade. Australia is Taiwan’s largest source of coal and iron ore imports. In addition, we also import a large amount of Australian dairy products, wheat, and sugar, which makes Taiwan a huge customer for Australian agricultural products.
Investment
Taiwan’s investment in Australia in 2023 amounted to US$3.7 billion, while Australia’s investment in Taiwan amounted to US$4.0 billion for the same year.
