Bilateral trade between Taiwan and Portugal reached US$ 0.77 billion in 2023, ranking Portugal our 15th largest trading partner in Europe. In 2023, Taiwan's exports to Portugal were US$ 0.56 billion, representing a decrease of 6.46% over the previous year, making Portugal our 14th largest export market in Europe. Meanwhile, Taiwan's imports from Portugal rose 2.38% to US$ 0.29 billion, and ranking Portugal our 17th largest source of imports in Europe.
Investment
As of 2023, Portuguese enterprises have invested a total of 57 cases in Taiwan, with a cumulative value of US$ 240 million. Major investment industries were: manufacturing of electronic components, wholesale and retail, art, entertainment and recreation services. During the same period, Taiwanese domestic enterprises has 1 investment project in Portugal.
