Taiwan’s regulations for species of CITES II exemption for personal and household effects 
Date of standard implementation: April 26,2022 and DEC. 18, 2023

According to CITES Resolution Conf. 13.7 (Rev.Cop17) and taking into consideration the practical measures adopted by other countries , we have chosen not to implement the above exemption at all and have established specified species and quantitative restrictions as follows:
A. Terms for personal or household effects:
1.) Personally owned or possessed for non-commercial purposes;
2. ) Legally-acquired; and
3. )At the time of import, export or re-export either:
i) worn or carried on person or included in personal baggage ;or
ii)part of a household move;
B. Specified specimens in Appendix-II which are dead specimens, or parts or derivatives of specimens and quantity limitations as follows:
1. ) Caviar of sturgeon species (Acipenseriformes spp.):up to a maximum of 125 grams per person.
2. ) Rainsticks of Cactaceae spp.:up to three specimens per person.
3. ) Specimens of crocodilian species: up to four specimens per person.
4. ) Queen conch (Strombus gigas) shells: up to three specimens per person.
5. ) Seahorses (Hippocampus spp.):up to four specimens per person.
6. ) Giant clam (Tridacnidae spp.) shells: up to three specimens, not exceeding 3kg per person.
7. ) specimens of agarwood – up to 1 kg of woodchips, 24 ml of oil and two sets of beads or prayer beads (or two necklaces or bracelets) per person.
8. ) Bletilla spp., Gastrodia elata, Dendrobium spp.(excluding Dendrobium cruentum), Cibotium barometz, Nardostachys grandiflora, Picrorhiza kurrooa, Cistanche deserticola, Panax ginseng, Panax quinquefolius, Aloe spp.: up to total 1 kg
C. However, according to regulations of the importing country or area, the owner should acquire a CITES EXPORT PERMIT, and attach a copy of his/her passport and purchase invoice to it. The owner can apply for the CITES EXPORT PERMIT from TITA.
