Minister Wang promotes US-Taiwan Supply Chain Cooperation at Heritage Foundation virtual forum

Minister Wang joined a virtual event hosted by The Heritage Foundation titled, US-Taiwan Economic Cooperation: Looking Ahead, on August 31. US Assistant Secretary of State David Stilwell delivered an address at the event and commended on Taiwan’s anti-pandemic contributions, strong democratic values, and the willingness to overcome trade barriers, namely on US beef and pork.

Three areas highlighted by Minister Wang to further enhance the US-Taiwan partnership included joint anti-pandemic efforts, supply chain cooperation, and a US-Taiwan Bilateral Trade Agreement. The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) released a statement following the event to confirm that Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, Keith Krach will be chairing a US-Taiwan Economic and Commercial Dialogue. This new high-level annual economic dialogue will be an opportunity to forge new economic cooperation and strengthen collaboration on existing fields.
