Minister Wang Mei-Hua of the Ministry of Economic Affairs was invited to attend the "2021 Taiwan-Honduras Online Business Opportunity Symposium " held by the Central America Trade Office and the Embassy of the Republic of Honduras on April 14 and deliver opening remarks along with Honduras Vice President and Secretary of Economic Development María Antonia Rivera.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Taiwan and Honduras. This symposium was mainly held to share information about the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Republic of Honduras, as well as bilateral industrial development, while enabling Honduran companies and investors to understand Taiwan's industrial environment and business opportunities.
Secretary General Amelia W.J. Day of the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) was also invited to speak about the current status of bilateral trade and the mutual benefits of FTA. More than 200 Hondurans entrepreneurs attended the symposium online and the response was overwhelming.
