Taiwan yacht exports increase in value and size

For two consecutive years, Taiwan, known as the "Yacht Kingdom," showed a double digit growth for its yacht exports. In 2021, total exports value reached US$230 million, a growth rate of 12.9% over 2020. From January to September 2022, yacht exports rose to US$220 million, an increase of 34.5% over the same period last year.

The United States is Taiwan's main market for yachts. Statistics from the Customs Administration of the Ministry of Finance showed that in 2021, 67% of exports went to the United States, followed by Australia at 12.3%, Canada at 5.5%, Singapore at 4.5%, and Mexico, 2.9%. From January to September 2022, the share of exports to the United States rose to 75.6%, and export value increased by 42.9% compared to the same period in 2021.

Taiwan ranks first in Asia in terms of the total length of yachts exported. According to the "2022 Global Order Book" (GOB) released by the British "Boat International", the total length of yachts exported by Taiwan reached 2,344 meters, higher than last year. This total length grew by 19% compared to the previous year, ranking Taiwan fourth in the world, and first in Asia.
