Taiwan’s healthcare industry possesses unique advantages and distinguishing characteristics. It is currently developing smart telemedicine and precision health in conjunction with Taiwan’s advanced information and communication technology. The precision health industry is also one of the six core strategic industries announced by President Tsai last year, which showcases the great potential and competitiveness of our healthcare industry.

In order to promote cross-discipline cooperation between healthcare and technology, the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) invited academic and industry experts to participate in the Symposium on "Innovation and Value-added Smart Healthcare: Analysis by Experts" at the Taipei International Convention Center on April 28, 2021. Insightful analysis on value-added smart healthcare innovation was conducted, and industrial development trends and successful business experience were shared during the event. There was also a telemedicine and AI display area set up at the venue for those who wished to discuss and demonstrate how technology can be used in the industry.

The symposium attracted a total of 150 online and offline participants. Domestic industry leaders, such as Wistron Corp., Medimaging Integrated Solution Inc. and aetherAI Co., attended the event, while many other medical institutions and medical equipment manufacturers also participated.
