On October 2, 2026, TITA Director General William Liu received a delegation comprising Japan-Taiwan Friendship Association Chairman Seishiro Eto, former Vice-Speakers of the House of Representatives; Oita Prefecture Governor Kiichiro Sato; and local government leaders from Oita. The two sides exchanged views on the current state of Taiwan-Japan economic and trade cooperation and opportunities to further deepen economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Taiwan and Oita Prefecture.
