The Second Meeting of the Administrative Commission of the Agreement on Economic Cooperation (ECA) between the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Government of Belize was convened at the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taipei City on July 29 and 30, 2025.
The meeting, co-chaired by MOEA Deputy Minister Cynthia Kiang and Chief Executive Officer Amalia Mai in Belize’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, achieved positive results in terms of enhancing bilateral cooperation in a range of areas.
The two-day program also included the concurrent holding of five technical committee meetings under the framework of the ECA, covering sanitary and phytosanitary measures, technical barriers to trade, investment promotion and cooperation, technical and economic cooperation, and rules of origin.
In addition, the Ministry of Economic Affairs hosted the Belize Trade and Investment Opportunities Seminar on July 29. Nearly 100 Taiwanese business representatives attended the event which featured enthusiastic discussions on potential business ventures and partnerships.
During the two-day series of events, officials of both sides expressed the commitment of their respective nations to continue working closely together as mutually loyal and reliable partners on promoting bilateral economic growth and development.
