With reference to the communication from the Permanent Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the World Trade Organization, dated 20 November 2002, the Permanent Mission of the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu to the World Trade Organization wishes to express its appreciation of China’s willingness to hold consultations with the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu, in response to our request, under Article 12.3 of the Agreement on Safeguards concerning China’s definitive safeguard measures on certain steel products. The Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu remains ready and willing to hold consultations with China on this matter.
