The Chairman drew Members' attention to the waiver request circulated in document G/L/553 and accompanying draft waiver decision circulated in document G/C/W/383 from Romania. This request had been made in connection with the introduction of HS2002 changes in Romania on 1 January 2002. The Committee on Market Access agreed at its recent meeting to forward the waiver request and the draft waiver decision to the Council for Trade in Goods for approval. The Chairman proposed that the CTG recommend that the request, together with the draft decision, be forwarded to the General Council for adoption.
